Admission Rules
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Institute offers three types of programmes: B.Ed., D.El.Ed., and M.A. (Education).
- The duration of B.Ed. and M.A. (Education) programmes is two years (spread over four semesters), while D.El.Ed. is a two-year programme.
- The course curriculum follows the guidelines of Punjabi University, Patiala.
- Reservation of seats and relaxation in qualifying marks for reserved categories will be as per the policy of the Government of Punjab.
- Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks in a Bachelor’s degree, including Engineering or Technology (45% for SC, ST, and BC candidates), or at least 50% marks in a Master’s degree in any stream (45% for SC, ST, and BC candidates).
- Candidates must have completed Graduation or Post-Graduation in relevant subjects, as admission to the B.Ed. programme is subject-based. The candidate must have studied these subjects at the Graduation or Post-Graduation level, based on which two teaching/pedagogical subjects will be allotted at the time of admission.
- As per the Punjab Government notification, only candidates who have qualified the Common Entrance Test (CET) will be eligible for admission to Colleges of Education.
