Admission Rules

Institute offers three types of Programmes B.Ed., D.El.Ed., M.A. (Edu)

1. The programmes B.Ed. & M.A (Edu) duration is of two years (spread into four semesters) and D.El.Ed. is Two years program.
2. The course curriculum is according to Punjabi University, Patiala.
3. The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the policy of the Govt. of Punjab.
4. Applicant must have obtained at least 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree including a graduation degree in engineering and technology (45% in case of SC, ST, BC candidates) or; ii) at least 50% marks in the Master’s degree in any stream (45% in case of SC, ST, BC candidates )
5. Candidates should have passed Graduation/Post-Graduation in relevant subjects as admission in B.Ed. programme is subject-based. The candidate must have studied such subjects at graduation/post-graduation level based on which he/she would be offered two teaching/pedagogical subjects at the time of admission.
6. As per the Punjab Govt. notification, only those candidates will be eligible for admission in colleges of Education, for those who have qualified Common Entrance Test (CET). The minimum Qualifying marks in the Common Entrance test will be 25% (for SC/ST candidates, minimum marks will be 20%).
