RULES AND REGULATIONS

Institute offers three types of programmes: B.Ed., D.El.Ed., and M.A. (Education).

  1. The duration of B.Ed. and M.A. (Education) programmes is two years (spread over four semesters), while D.El.Ed. is a two-year programme.
  2. The course curriculum follows the guidelines of Punjabi University, Patiala.
  3. Reservation of seats and relaxation in qualifying marks for reserved categories will be as per the policy of the Government of Punjab.
  4. Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks in a Bachelor’s degree, including Engineering or Technology (45% for SC, ST, and BC candidates), or at least 50% marks in a Master’s degree in any stream (45% for SC, ST, and BC candidates).
  5. Candidates must have completed Graduation or Post-Graduation in relevant subjects, as admission to the B.Ed. programme is subject-based. The candidate must have studied these subjects at the Graduation or Post-Graduation level, based on which two teaching/pedagogical subjects will be allotted at the time of admission.
  6. As per the Punjab Government notification, only candidates who have qualified the Common Entrance Test (CET) will be eligible for admission to Colleges of Education.
